Purpose of this Award Program
The purpose of this Award Program is to recognize Web Masters & Web Mistresses who choose to be different and original in their design, and through hours of hard work have achieved their own identity on the World Wide Web.. I wish to recognize these sites for their long hours that it takes to create a quality web site that dares to be different.. Please don't think that this is an award giveaway, applicants will most definitely have to earn all awards from this Web Site..
On this Date 1-31-2002 I am scraping the scoring system and will be going by the criteria listed. If an applicant has any suggestions I would like to hear them..
General Criteria applies to ALL Awards!!
To win my Award(s) your website should have useful content, GREAT DESIGN, original graphics,or credit given to the designer friendly presentation and should be easy to navigate.
Language: Non-English speaking sites may apply for the Flaming Eagle Design Award.. All other Awards must be in English or have Translation to English.. Sorry it is the only language I know!
Content: I believe that no matter how flashy or "cool" looking your site may be , if there is no content value, it is not worth a visit from my visitors, thus has no place on my Winners List...
Graphic Design: Size of Graphics, Usefulness and Placement, if you designed your own Graphics it is a BIG PLUS....
Layout and Design: Readability and Layout, Backgrounds, Text size & color Overall flow of your pages.
Coding: Broken Images, Broken Links, and Site Map.. Do you have Navigation Buttons on each page or do you expect your visitors to use their browsers?
Speed: Do your pages load in a reasonable amount 90 seconds max of time? If not I am out of there....
AGE: All applicants must be 18 years old to apply for Awards from TimberCarver.Com. Linking the award back to TimberCarver.Com is required so others may apply Signing my Guest Book isn't a Requirement but it is Appreciated.... If you do not upload the award to your site then I will assume that you did not accept the Award and remove you from the Winners Hall Of Fame.. You must have an Awards Section on your site for Displaying Awards you have Won.. Absolutely no unauthorized sizing or tampering with the AWARD GRAPHIC !!
Time Frame
You can expect an answer on your application within 1 days to 4 weeks depending on the amount of submissions. I will contact the winners by Email... If you do not win and want to be notified by Email you can check a box on the application form If you elect to be notified should you lose I will send you an email but I will not elaborate why you were unsuccessful.. If you were not
successful this time you should make changes to your site and reapply in 60 days..
Please Read ALL of what will disqualify a site as well as the specific Award Criteria before you apply.. If you choose not to read these important requirements and you apply and it is apparent that you failed to read the requirements I will leave your site..
