I believe that Content can be in the form of photos as well as text as
long as your photos say something about you and who you are they will be counted as content..
Example: If you are an artist your photos tend to speak louder than words...
Spelling, your spelling will be checked BUT if you misspell words to emphasize your site I will not count it against you.. Examples: TimberCarver, WoodCarver, StickCarver... I know that these words are spelled wrong according to the dictionary but it is the way I spell them to emphasize my site.
I will view your site using medium text setting which I will adjust if needed..
I do not put much emphasis on HTML I feel that if your site appears OK in IE 6.0 and Netscape 4.7 and 6.2 it will pass..
I believe this NEW Criteria 1-31-2002 will produce more winners for TimberCarver.Com..
To Receive the Gold Eagle of Excellence Award
you will need to have all of the elements below.
Navigation: Is your site easy to get around in? Are there any Dead ends? Do I need to return to your Home Page in order to continue my journey through your Web Site? Did you provide site Navigation on all of your Main Pages? Are there Back Buttons on your internal link pages? Do your external links open in a new window?
Design: Is the Design yours or did you use someone else's material? If your Site is not your Design and Material do you give credit to the person that created your design? Does your Background and Text Clash? Do you use the right size text? (There are lots of Web Surfers that are not blessed with perfect vision!!) Does your Design make a statement about what your site is about?
Content: Do you provide Factual Content about your site and (or) your beliefs? As I mentioned at the top of this page I believe that content can be in the form of pictures as long as your pictures say something about you and who you are..
Theme: Does your site have an overall theme or do you change your theme on every page?
Spelling: Your spelling will be Checked very closely!! Remember what I said about spelling at the top of this page!!
Browser Compatibility: IE6 Netscape 4.7-6.2 IE 6.0.
Contribution: Is your Site making a worth while Contribution to the Internet? Do you offer a piece of yourself to your visitors?(IE- FAQ, Information, Free Stuff)
Personality: Does your site convey who you are and what your beliefs are?
Personal View: This is where I grade your site on my personal opinion from the moment that I stepped into your doorway until I leave.. Examples: Do your pages load in a reasonable amount of time? Are your images optimized for loading? Do I think you Have your visitors attention? Would I like to return to your Site?
